Three Kingdoms is a new dark fantasy action role-playing game developed by Team NINJA, the creators of Nioh.

Set in China during the Later Han Dynasty, 184 AD. The countryside is in shambles and devastated by disaster. The imperial dynasty, which thrived for a considerable time, is now on the verge of collapse.

The action-packed and dramatic video game Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty follows an unnamed militia soldier struggling to survive in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty, where demons haunt the Three Kingdoms. Players fight against dangerous monsters and human enemies using swordplay inspired by Chinese martial arts. They hope to defeat the odds by unlocking the true power that lies within them.

The term "Wo Long" can refer to both a literal crouching dragon and a hero or other distinguished figure whose identity is now unknown. It is the story of officers who later became heroes in their time in the "unknown", as well as the story of a hero's rise from being a "nobody". Both stories are intertwined throughout the narrative.
