Iraq, 2003. As the fight draws to a nearby CIA site, Rachel King joins a high-level military unit in an assault on a supposed underground synthetic weapons office in the shadows of the Zagros Mountains. The unit, seen in the directions, is ambushed by a neighborhood watchman led by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the fight, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, sending the two sides crashing into the ruins of a covered Sumerian temple. Something evil stirs in the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert.
There is another prey to be chased in a house of wild and relentless, old-fashioned and ridiculous animals. As they struggle to explore the hidden world and escape the unnerving danger, the survivors are faced with horrifying revelations and unimaginable choices.
